And here's... Doctum!

When we set out to create some eLearning for a client a couple years ago, we didn't set out to make Doctum. We had been around the block a few times, building eLearning in just about every toolkit under the sun.

We were established Flash, Director and Authorware experts, and had built up a huge library of code to do all the basics of eLearning, but hadn't put it in a format that allowed for easy reuse. So, we captured the code, saved some of the best of it and built some great templates. Part 1... Done.

We had built many web based content management systems, but none of them focused on the collaborative editing experience that was needed to bring Subject Matter Experts and Editors together. That problem, the need to manage the editing process, brought about the Builder application.

After building many courses for clients, it became more and more apparent that this tool really was great! It was easy to use and produced professional results quickly. After some thought, we determined that something this good had to be shared.

So many companies and organizations have a need to share knowledge and create learning materials. There have always been a couple big stumbling blocks in them being able to do just that, though. Tools are either expensive or too difficult to use. Doctum changes all of that.
